·         $7.7 billion transaction involved the takeover of Northumbrian Water by UK Holdings, a vehicle owned by a consortium of three Hong Kong companies led by Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-Shing’s Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI)

·         Mills & Reeve previously advised CKI on its $122 million sale of Cambridge Water to HSBC Holdings

·         Northumbrian Water is a longstanding client of Hogan Lovells, the firm advised on the company’s 2003 listings on the AIM and the London Stock Exchange
