AllBright, the largest law firm in Shanghai, has increased its offering of cross-border transactional legal services by appointing two senior members to its corporate group.  

New partner Richard Lee joined from Simmons & Simmons where he served as a consultant in the firm's China corporate group in Hong Kong. Lee had also previously practised with Clifford Chance and Baker & McKenzie. The other new partner, Louis Meng (pictured), was formerly a partner at the Shanghai office of K&L Gates, which was opened in April 2008. Priority to joining K&L Gates, he was a consultant in DLA Piper's Shanghai office.

Both Lee and Meng focus on corporate transactional matters and advisory work, including cross-border investments in Chinese companies, M&A and restructuring.

AllBright has also recruited a number of associates and supporting staff from top firms in recent months. The new appointments are a result of a busy 2009 for the firm, which advised on about 20 listings and IPOs at home and abroad, several bond issuances and numerous M&A transactions for clients such as Shanghai Industrial Holdings, Five Star Electronics and Sharp Group.
