Perth boutique firm Cochrane Lishman has lured across two senior associates from Mallesons Stephen Jaques, promoting one new recruit to the partnership.
Justin Harris said the lure of a partnership position was a factor in his decision to leave Mallesons, as well as the chance to work with Ian Cochrane once again.
"I worked with Ian at Mallesons. He's a good operator and there are opportunities in Perth to work with a smaller and more flexible operator," Harris said.
Harris and his fellow defecting senior associate from Mallesons, Paul Vinci, both gave the structure and flexibility of Cochrane Lishman as the reason why they approached the firm.
"The remuneration structure allows a lot more flexibility, and the bonus scheme based on the revenue performance of the firm is an attractive model," Vinci said. He also indicated that the opportunity to become a partner down the track was a motivating factor in his decision to leave Mallesons.
Cochrane Lishman also hired a third ex-Mallesons man with the appointment of Brandon Munro as a consultant. He comes to the firm from Churchill Capital Services, where he was the director of corporate advisory and investment. He was with Mallesons previous to this role.
