Herbert Geer has boosted its construction and infrastructure expertise, following a new agreement with Sydney firm Rivlin Deschamps Kelly (RDK) Lawyers.
RDK partners Doron Rivlin, Paul Deschamps and Chris Kelly will join
Herbert Geer. They have several years’ experience working at a boutique construction law firm.
Bill Fazio, managing partner of
Herbert Geer says the move is hoped to reinforce the firm’s expertise in light of the infrastructure boom. He pointed to the federal government’s push to develop more hospitals, roads, ports and infrastructure.
“The recent Brisbane Airport Link project is an example of the major infrastructure investment taking place on the east coast of Australia. There is huge demand for both social infrastructure and projects for clean power and better use of water resources. Doron, Paul and Chris are the ones who can help us capitalise on this,” said Fazio.
The newly appointed partners have advised a number of major organisations on significant projects in Australia over the past 15 years. The construction team will provide a range of construction law services from tender and contract preparation to dispute resolution and adjudications.
“It is giving us a skill set that we did not have before, a wider skill base,” said Fazio. “Our outcome is to help our clients on front end project work and construction disputes, and have a wider footprint and greater participation in the infrastructure sector.”
