After spending a good eight years at Blake Dawson partner Peter Jarosek decided it was time for a new challenge, and joined Corrs Chambers Westgarth's energy and resources practice.

Jarosek, who is known for his work for the oil and gas industry, said he was impressed by Corrs' strategic plan, cohesion, and client-focus. "I also liked how the firm has a commitment to grow energy practice. Basically, they needed practitioner at partner level to get the critical mass that they needed and that's where I came into the picture," he said.

He has been involved in major oil and gas projects in WA, including the Pluto LNG project (A$12bn), Sunrise gas project in the Timor Sea and Browse LNG project, among others.

Although none of his staff have come with him to Corrs, Jarosek is confident that he has well-established relationships with his clients, and expects them to continue. "I'm fortunate to have strong client relationships... My move to Corrs will make some companies have a look at moving to us. I am also expecting to work with new clients," he said.
