ClarkeKann has recently returned from its recruitment safari, appointing ex-Hunts' Lawyers principal Paul Hunt as a partner at its Brisbane office.

Hunt has a strong media and technology client base and will head the Sydney office's corporate and commercial practice as well. Before establishing Hunts' in 2004, he worked at Melbourne-based Marshalls & Dent for four years.

He said he gained his client service skills through working as an in-house lawyer for Imagination Entertainment and One Tel. He recommended that lawyers consider working in-house for a period, since it helps them understand how to effectively deal with clients.

His team of three lawyers will also join the firm from Hunts' and he is looking forward to the challenge of bolstering ClarkeKann's Sydney office, which currently has about 15 staff.
