Middletons has appointed Jane Owen as a partner at the firm’s new Innovations and IP Group in Sydney.
Owen had previously been an IP partner at Maddocks and, in making the move, she has brought senior associates Troy Gurnett and Tim Francis, and other team members, to Middletons.
Tony Watson, national head of Middletons’ Innovations and IP group believes that Owen will make a good addition to the firm’s IP practice.
“Jane’s team is an excellent complement to our strong intellectual property practice and bolsters our team in Sydney,” said Watson.
In recent years, Middletons' IP group has assisted major clients, including Darrell Lea and Porter Davis Homes, with IP dispute matters.
“Middletons has a fantastic and growing reputation in the IP space that compliments my practice group coming here. IP is a fundamental part of Middleton’s strategy for growth and we find that very exciting,” said Owen.
“It’s fantastic...terrific people, great philosophy and a very energetic approach to legal services.”
