Henry Davis York (HDY) has bolstered its construction, infrastructure and project capability by appointing Michael Wright and Steven Blanch as partners.
The move is aimed to extend HDY’s construction team, which has major clients in the financial services and government sectors.
Wright and Blanch, formerly of Allens Arthur Robinson, have experience advising clients on front-end and back-end construction, large infrastructure projects and government. Wright said he moved to HDY because he wanted to work for a smaller and more dynamic firm.
“I left Allens not through any sense of dissatisfaction; it was just time for a new challenge as well as a change of scenery,” he said. “HDY is a focused firm with a solid reputation. It does things a bit differently and it doesn’t have that national firm overhead.”
Although it is Wright’s first week on the job, he said he is already familiar with a number of the staff.
“There are a few colleagues in most areas who I previously knew, such as Ben Emblin, a banking & finance partner who was also from Allens. It’s been good catching up with them,” said Wright.
