Mellor Olsson has promoted five of its senior associates to the firm’s partnership.
Joanna Andrew, Darren Foeng, Jennifer Goodale, Anthony Kelly and Will Webster are the first internal partner appointments in the past 13 years.
Managing Partner Andrew Goode says the move does not simply recognise business that the new partners brought, rather it acknowledges strong leadership, teamwork, client relationship management and excellent service. “Jennifer Goodale who has been with the firm for 22 years has built her own family law practice in the firm and it was her success that earned her that title; Will Webster has been with us since 2000 and provided excellent work in planning and environmental law, in particular. He has also brought in new clients,” he said.
Despite the difficulty that some firms face in retaining staff, keeping hold of staff doesn’t seem to be a major issue at Mellor Olsson. “We try to keep our staff, including juniors, happy by encouraging them to participate in different parts of the business, rather than just pigeonhole them into one area,” said Goode.
