Blake Dawson's Wikipedia page has been subjected to editing by unknown individuals who added details of the firm's recent retrenchments and average partner salaries. The changes were since taken out - but not by Blakes.
A spokeswoman told ALB that, while the firm had been involved in creating the original page, it had not played a role in deleting any information. "The firm made a management decision not to alter the changes to the Wikipedia entry so as not to provoke an editing war, despite some of the comments being clearly inaccurate," she said.
While reports have described the incident as a 'hijack' this is inaccurate, since Wikipedia allows both registered and unregistered users to modify pages instantly without prior moderation or approval - unless the content is disputed.
