Patent & trademark firm FB Rice & Co has appointed Brett Lunn as its new managing partner, and Duncan Hart (pictured) as its first chair.
Lunn's appointment, effective 1 July, comes as Paul Whenman moves to head the Sydney office's chemistry practice after ten years in the managing partner role. Lunn was chosen for his outstanding work in leading the firm's recognised medical technology practice for the past nine years.
Hart, on the other hand, has formerly been managing partner of Adelaide firm Ross & Mccarthy, southern regional managing director of DLA Phillips Fox, and most recently principal of professional services management firm Duncan Hart Consulting. He said his appointment to the new role reflects FB Rice & Co's increased focus on management. "My management expertise and intellectual property knowledge were major factors in my being elected for the role," he added.
This year, two new partners and three new senior associates were appointed to the firm's Sydney and Melbourne technology practices.
