HWL adds CBP talent, sixth lateral appointment this year

HWL Ebsworth has appointed Gamini Colless as a partner in its Sydney banking and finance practice.
Colless has joined HWL Ebsworth from Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) where he was a consultant. Prior to joining CBP in 2006, he was a banking and finance partner at Blake Dawson (now Ashurst) and Minter Ellison.
Colless is highly experienced in the areas of corporate finance, structured property finance, major property projects and public-private partnerships. He has advised corporate, government and joint-venture clients on complex financing and development transactions for a number of large projects in Australia.
This is the sixth lateral partner appointment for the firm since the start of the year. Other lateral hires have come from Ashurst, Clayton Utz, Norton Rose and Macpherson + Kelley. The partnership now totals 143.
