Two partners, a consultant and a team of lawyers will depart Melbourne-based boutique insurance firm, Monahan + Rowell, to join Moray & Agnew on June 1. The remaining partners at Monahan + Rowell are set to join Colin Biggers & Paisley (CBP) on that same date.
The move by the eight lawyers will see Moray & Agnew’s practice in Melbourne grow to 44 lawyers including 13 partners, seven special counsel and consultants and 10 senior associates. The two partners are Bruce Butler and Justin Griffin as well as consultant Philip Rowell. With more than 20 years legal experience each, the new additions bring with them expertise in large-scale insurance litigation, insurance policy advice and managing complex claims involving professional indemnity, product liability, employment risks and public liability.
“In the last six years our Melbourne office has grown by over 300 percent,” said Bill Papastergiadis, managing partner at Moray & Agnew Melbourne. “With the addition of the new teams we are confident that this spectacular growth will continue. These appointments come at a very exciting time for us in the Melbourne office and for the firm generally.”
