Freehills has appointed six new partners who will commence in their new roles on 1 July. This is the same as the number of partners promoted last year and the firm's partner count will remain generally steady at 206. Freehills CEO Gavin Bell said that while the firm only promoted on merit, he was pleased to see that four of the six new partners were women, which was reflective of the growing numbers of women studying and practising law. About a fifth of the Freehills partnership is now female.
Meanwhile Middletons has also announced a round of promotions, appointing four new partners, one special counsel and nine senior associates.
