The Simpson Grierson partnership has been appointed corporate/commercial head Kevin Jaffe as the firm's new chairman.
When nominated for the role, Jaffe received overwhelming support from his colleagues. "I think my appointment reflects the firm's focus on corporate/commercial law, and my involvement in the leadership team - a five-member board with a chairman," he said.
Jaffe believes there is still business confidence in the Kiwi economic climate, pointing to an increase in overseas enquiries and opportunities to pitch for work. He believes it is a good time to focus on business development, namely building on relationships and making connections to showcase the firm's skills to the "right people".
The appointment, effective 1 July, comes after Rob Fisher's ten year tenure as chairman ended. He left the partnership for another work opportunity in the development space.
