Minter Ellison has made a pre-New Year swoop on three Jones Day partners in Hong Kong.
Capital markets and M&A lawyers Barbara Mok, Anne Ko and Katherine U will join the HK practice as partners. They join fellow new arrivals to the office, Geraldine Johns-Putra, a senior foreign legal consultant and partner Anthony Chan, both previously at Hogan Lovells HK.
Ko, Mok and U are recognised leaders in the areas of capital markets and M&A with a long track record of working on deals in the HK and China market. "Their arrival further strengthens our capability in this area as demand for capital markets and M&A advice continues to grow in Greater China and we expand our core practice areas of M&A and capital markets - particularly in the resources and infrastructure sectors - through our HK, Shanghai and Beijing offices,” said Mark Green, international managing partner of Minter Ellison.
Mok is a native of Hong Kong and is a member of the Law Society of Hong Kong and the Law Society of England and Wales (non-practicing). She is also a China-appointed attesting officer appointed by the PRC Ministry of Justice. U is a frequent speaker on regulatory compliance and corporate governance for Hong Kong-listed companies.
