Shanghai-based shipping specialist firm LC & Co has recently dissolved, following the departure of its co-founder Li Feng and senior counsel Yao Hongxiu to SG & CO. Both Li and Yao have joined the newly established Shanghai firm, formed through the merger of four law firms – Qinghua, Dongxin, Huali and Guolian – under one legal team led by partner Lv Yan.
“We could no longer see the development potential at LC & Co and couldn’t meet the increasing demand from clients. SG & CO has 18 partners and 40 lawyers so it can provide us with a much larger and stronger platform. Our long-term clients are pleased with our move,” said Li, who has a group of loyal clients including the Hangzhou Cogeneration Import & Export Company.
LC & Co’s remaining team, including co-founders Chen Weidong and Li Yingchun, will be subsumed by Dacheng’s Shanghai office. Li Feng, Chen Weidong and Li Yingchun all used to work at Shanghai firm Sloma & Co, and left to set up LC & Co in 2007. ALB
