Macpherson + Kelley Lawyers has appointed John Turnbull as a Melbourne-based principal.
Turnbull has more than 30 years’ legal experience and is one of very few lawyers to secure both property law and business law accreditation from the Law Institute of Victoria. He was formerly a founding partner of Melbourne based firm Mason Sier Turnbull. In his new role he will lead the firm's national property group, while also offering a broad range of business legal services to clients.
Turnbull has extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions, business restructuring and shareholder disputes as well as a broad range of commercial and retail property experience including due diligence, subdivision, off-the-plan and physical sales.
“I anticipate that this will continue to be quite a difficult year in the property sector – but the broad business perspective that I bring to M+K will help clients recognise that in even difficult times there is opportunity," said Turnbull. "I see my role as meeting clients’ day by day legal requirements in the property arena, but also working with them to identify and realise broader business opportunities.”
